Plot:
Rosika, the daughter of a poor scissors grinder, attends a folk festival and hears from the bystanders that she should have seven brothers. She then learns from her parents that the father was once a rich merchant who cursed seven brothers a day for Rosika's birth, and then they were turned into ravens. Since then, the father has given all his money to the poor and is acting as a scissors grinder to atone for his guilt. Determined to find and redeem the brothers, Rosika goes in search of their whereabouts. On leaving, she gets the best pair of scissors from the father and the ring from the mother. On her journey she meets the sun, but it does not want to tell her where the seven ravens are. The moon is no help either. Only the stars tell her that the brothers live in the glass mountain and give her the key to it. After arriving there, she realizes that the key has disappeared. With her scissors she cuts off a finger, with which she opens the door of the mountain and is received by the dwarf Pellegrin, the servant of the ravens. She is allowed to sit down and eat something. When the ravens come home, she drops the mother's ring in her cup and hides. The ravens discover the ring, Rosika reveals himself and the brothers are redeemed. The enchanted Pellegrin also transforms into a human being.
