This production of On Your Toes opened on Broadway on October 11, 1954 at the 46th Street Theater (now the Richard Rodgers Theater) and closed December 4, 1954 after 64 performances. This revival interpolated the song "You Took Advantage of Me" from Rodgers & Hart's Present Arms to give an additional number to Elaine Stritch, who had been such a success in the 1952 revival of Rodgers & Hart's Pal Joey.
The original production of On Your Toes opened on Broadway on April 11, 1936 at the Imperial Theater, transferred to the Majestic Theater on November 9, 1936 and closed on January 23, 1937 after 315 performances.
