Aunque nunca ganó ningún premio, la película The Band Wagon es hoy considerada por muchos como el mejor musical de Vincente Minnelli; algunos pueden estar en desacuerdo, pero hay poco debate sobre el atractivo de la partitura, compuesta casi en su totalidad por material de Howard Dietz y Arthur Schwartz. "That's Entertainment!" se convirtió en el himno del negocio del espectáculo, más grande que el "There's No Business Like Show Business" de Irving Berlin, y se consolidó permanentemente en la conciencia pública a través de tres documentales MGM usándolo como su título.
