The Writer: Anna Miriam Brown

Gifted songwriter Anna Miriam Brown, 18, is the writer of His Story the Musical, a theatrical production of the life of Jesus Christ with a sound many compare with the Hip-Hop of "Hamilton", emotional melodies of "Dear Evan Hansen", and orchestral beauty of Disney's "Alan Menken".

A dyslexic unable to read or write before 9 years old, Brown majored early in the arts as a homeschooler, before starting to pen her first songs as a 15-year-old.  During a missionary trip to Africa, she started to assemble the songs which would become the musical. As a teenager who understands the power of social media, Brown sees an opportunity to reach her generation with the timeless story of light and hope.  She says, “My heart for this project is to inspire curiosity about the Bible and to clearly and beautifully present the gospel in a way that doesn’t force Jesus down people’s throats, but instead clearly shows His character so that people will understand who He is and want to know Him personally.”

Music and recording professionals from around the world collaborated to produce HIS STORY, including the legendary Wendy Waldman’s Longhouse studios in LA, award-winning Christian singer Christine Dente’ as editor and consultant, medalist Atom String Quartet in Europe, and noted creative genius producer and pianist Pawel Zarecki in Warsaw, Poland.

Anna Miriam Brown sings the part of Mary. Gabriel Brown (a.k.a Black Gryph0n), who provided voice talent on many movie and TV productions including Pixar’s “Finding Dory” and has over a million subscribers on YouTube, sings the part of Peter, Satan, an angel and a Pharisee. Jamal Moore sings the part of Jesus, who has performed on TV and toured extensively, and emotive LA native Revel Day opens up the title number rapping the part of Matthew.

Lady Margaret is staying at a hotel on the Norman coast, and when she meets the bellboy who takes her luggage to her room, she falls in love with the young man at first sight.

This morose and ironic situation will be the beginning of an intense, crazy, obsessive, almost absurd relationship that leaves the protagonists at the edge of tragedy.

Cristian Siméon (already known in Argentina for his creation "The Cabaret of Lost Men") tells this disenchanted tale covered in dialogues tailor-made by Michel Fau (the actor whom the play was originally written for). The songs that tell the story are signed by Michel Rivgauche and other lyricists for the timely music of Jean Pierre Stora.

Drama and melancholy, arrogance and grotesque, tragedy...  this is Hotel Neurotik, a true ode to kitsch, transformism in all its splendor, realism in its stark version, music hall and a declaration of eternal love to the French song.

In a frank mix of irony, aestheticism and theatricality, Hotel Neurotik is enriched with unpublished songs and knife-cut dialogues that revisit the great stereotypes of the melodramatic game: from sentimental overflow to stubbornness rather than exaggeration.
Hotel Neurotik evokes the Genet who said that each individual is nothing more than a superimposition of masks, the poet Baudelaire in his eulogy of makeup and Copi for whom "the greatest authenticity expresses itself only through the highest artifice".

Hotel Neurotik lights up with humor as an ally the darkest and most obsessive aspect of relationships.
