The cast for the 2015 production of Soot Spelet—the Norwegian historical outdoor musical about canal-builder Engebret Soot—featured singer and violinist Alexander Rybak in a major starring role as the eccentric 19th-century composer Ole Bull.

The musical featured vocal performances and an official cast soundtrack album created by the renowned Norwegian musician and songwriter Henning Kvitnes alongside the broader theatrical ensemble.
