Notes: The Dracula Rock Opera was born as a musical extravagance by two Norwegian metal and hard rock giants, Trond Holter (ex-Wig Wam, JORN) and singer Jørn Lande, and has now developed into a regular music project with guitarist, producer and songwriter Trond Holter at the helm. Originally it was planned to leave "Swing Of Death" as a unique, unique music recording, but the success the musical had in front of the audience in Norwegian theaters convinced Trond that a sequel was not only possible, but maybe even mandatory.
He was sitting on a lot of material anyway and still felt inspired to tell the Dracula and Vampire stories that didn't find a home on the debut album. The product of this new inspiration is "Vlad The Impaler". Vlad, aka Vlad Dracula, was "Voivode" (or Prince) of Wallachia three times between 1448 and his death, and is the historical figure who inspired the famous legends about Dracula. With artists such as singer Nils K Rue (Pagan's Mind) and singer Eva Iselin Erichsen, Bernt Jansen on bass, Per Morten Bergseth on drums and Erling Henanger on keyboard, "Vlad The Impaler" begins where "Swing Of Death" left off. Musically it is an album that gets to the point and at the same time combines different musical directions. It contains catchy and melodic songs in a style similar to the previous album. "Think Savatage" meets "Meat Loaf" meets "Queen" meets "Alice Cooper", with contemporary hard rock. Without a doubt, 'Vlad The Impaler' 2018 will be one of the highlights of the melodic metal genre!
